This April, Descartes’ Head of Underwriting & Co-Founder, Sebastien Piguet, took part in a round table discussion hosted by the Intelligent Insurer on climate change and adapting models to better understand the systemic threat. 

Joining Daniel Stander from UNDP, Bhaskar Chattaraj from TigerRisk Partners, and Meghan Purdy from Jupiter Intelligence, Sébastien shared his insights on Descartes Underwriting’s models which, by design, allow us to take into account the impact of climate change. With the ever improving availability, volume and accuracy of data, Sébastien highlighted the present challenge of handling its vast volume.
